West Ham were left frustrated last year as top talent Divin Mubama elected to leave for Manchester City, but he could now be on the move again.

Mubama was an outstanding talent within the Hammers’ academy and had started to break through into the first team under David Moyes.

West Ham wanted to keep Mubama, but he rejected a new contract to eventually leave on a free last summer, joining Pep Guardiola at City.

However, opportunities have been difficult at City, but he could now leave for a huge profit despite making just one senior appearance.

Less than a year after leaving West Ham, Mubama is being targeted for another transfer as relegated Premier League side Ipswich Town are keen on signing him.

Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Ipswich have made an enquiry to Man City over Mubama, but they are expecting a fee of £10million for his signature.

The 20-year-old made 18 senior appearances for West Ham, scoring once, but despite not featuring for City, his value has increased.

West Ham miss out on Mubama profit

Mubama could have offered a lot of value to West Ham this season had he stayed, given their lack of options upfront, but they will also be frustrated from a financial viewpoint.

City paid West Ham a compensation fee of around £2million for Mubama a year ago, but he could now move again for five times that price.

There will certainly be regret at West Ham that they lost Mubama for these reasons, but given how much his value has risen, there is unlikely to be a push to bring him back this summer.

West Ham will sign Celtic youngster Daniel Cummings, and they will hope he can develop into the prolific forward they thought Mubama could grow into.

Mubama could thrive in the Championship if he does join Ipswich, where he could replace Chelsea-bound attacker Liam Delap.
