Newcastle United target Mohammed Kudus is not keen to make a Saudi Pro League move this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe is in the market for a new right-sided winger as he looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (28 May) that Kudus features highly on Howe’s shortlist of potential signings and Newcastle are now exploring a move for the West Ham star.

Meanwhile, the Irons are willing to sacrifice the 24-year-old during the summer window to boost their own transfer kitty and stave off concerns surrounding Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

A number of Saudi Pro League clubs are monitoring Kudus’ situation – but sources say the player is not interested in making that move at this stage of his career, providing a big boost to Newcastle.

Thanks to their fifth-place finish in the Premier League, Newcastle are in an ideal position to fulfil those wishes – having qualified for next season’s Champions League.

Kudus’ record since signing for West Ham in 2023.

Kudus has been a useful attacking outlet for West Ham since his arrival from Ajax in August 2023, featuring in a variety of positions.

Football Insider revealed in April that the West Ham star is high on the wanted list for Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr – but he is now set to snub that interest in the summer window, which opens on 1 June.

Newcastle United

Paul Mitchell is leaving Newcastle after less than a year.

Newcastle shake-up could offer more transfer power to Howe

A boardroom reshuffle at St. James’ Park earlier this week could hand Howe more control over his preferred arrivals this summer.

The club announced that Paul Mitchell will leave his role as sporting director on Tyneside – less than a year after joining the club.

During that time, Mitchell failed to complete a first-team signing for the Magpies and will now vacate his position at the end of June.
