Man City are reluctantly prepared to accept loan offers for Jack Grealish this summer but would prefer to move him on permanently.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Pep Guardiola’s side see the midfielder’s future as a “major concern”.
The 29-year-old’s hefty £350,000 weekly wage packet means very few clubs would be able to finance a permanent move and a loan may be his only option.
The deal was compared to Marcus Rashford’s exit from Man United, as Brown told Football Insider Rashford may have to accept another loan move after his Aston Villa spell.
While a permanent move is the preferred option, City could be forced to agree a temporary move which would also see them cover a percentage of his wages.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 22 May that Grealish expects to leave Man City this summer and has told friends he has been “frozen out” by Guardiola.

Man City to accept loan offers for Jack Grealish
Brown told Football Insider that Newcastle are considering a move for Grealish as Eddie Howe believes he would be a good addition to his squad.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted City may have no choice but to accept loan offers for the England international.
“*Jack Grealish is a major concern for Man City,*” he told Football Insider.
“They want to move him on, but who can afford him?
“Ideally, they’re planning to move him on permanently and they want to avoid a loan move.
“They paid a record transfer fee for him, so letting him go on loan four years later doesn’t look good, and they don’t want to do that.
“But it’s a bit like Marcus Rashford at Man United, they might not have a choice.
“Very few clubs will be able to afford what City are going to ask for on top of his wages.
“They might find that the only way they can shift him is on loan while paying a percentage of his wages.
“As much as a permanent deal is their preferred option, they’ll find that difficult to do.”

Rayan Cherki update emerges at the Etihad
Amid ongoing speculation about departing players, City have also set their sights on new signings, with Lyon winger Rayan Cherki firmly on their radar.
Football Insider revealed on 28 May that Cherki will likely leave Lyon amid City’s interest, and has a £20million release clause in his contract.
However, he is attracting interest from a number of elite clubs across Europe including the likes of Liverpool who are keeping an eye on his situation.
Brown told Football Insider in April that Man United have been alerted to Cherki’s availability alongside a host of European suitors.
