Barcelona are eager to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer and are eyeing an ‘ambitious’ loan deal to bring the 27-year-old to the Nou Camp, journalist Shaun Connolly has revealed.
The Catalans are keeping close tabs on developments around Rashford’s future, as he is set to return to Man United once his Aston Villa loan finishes next month.
The 'world-class' England international is unlikely to prolong his stay in the West Midlands, as Villa have reservations over activating their £40m option to buy the forward permanently.
Rashford enjoyed a promising loan spell at Villa Park, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 17 appearances in all competitions.

According to Connolly, Barcelona are eager to reach an agreement with Man United over Rashford’s arrival on loan, which would include a guaranteed €30m (£25m) purchase fee and performance-related add-ons.
Rashford is believed to be open to a move to the Nou Camp this summer and is wanted by both Barcelona manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco.
Flick in particular ‘feels’ Rashford has much to offer at the highest level and remains confident his attacking prowess can complement his star-studded frontline.
Barcelona would reportedly be open to covering Rashford’s full salary, which stands at £270,000 per week.
Man United are anticipating a significant squad clearout ahead of Ruben Amorim’s first summer transfer window, with Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and a host of veterans expected to depart.
The Red Devils have already confirmed the free transfer exits of Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans, whose contracts expire at the end of next month.
