Report’: Liverpool could agree a deal to sell their ‘world-class’ player in the next 24 hours

Some big names could be set to depart from Liverpool this summer.

Darwin Nunez is set to leave Liverpool, Luis Diaz has been linked with a move recently, while Bayern Munich are keen on Cody Gakpo.

On top of that, Real Madrid have had a look at Alexis Mac Allister in recent times.

Real Madrid are also set to sign another Liverpool player, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold has already announced he’s leaving Liverpool, but he may not leave on a free transfer as expected.

Indeed, Madrid want to pay a fee to sign Alexander-Arnold early so he can play at the Club World Cup, and a deal could be heading towards being done.

Trent Alexander-Arnold could join Real Madrid very soon

According to The Times, a deal to take Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid early could be done in the next 24 hours.

The ‘world-class’ full-back is set to leave Liverpool in any case, but now, the Reds could be set to receive a fee for the defender.

Real Madrid bid for Alexander-Arnold in January, and now, they’re trying to get a deal done early once again.

With the season over, Liverpool have no reason to stand in Madrid’s way here, and a transfer could be sealed very soon.

A special transfer window is set to open on June 1st in order for teams to make signings for the Club World Cup, and Alexander-Arnold could be moving pretty quickly.

Alexander-Arnold is a ‘world-class’ player and he’ll want to be playing at the Club World Cup.

How much Liverpool could save on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s wages

It’s unclear how much Real Madrid would pay to sign Alexander-Arnold at this point, but Liverpool would be set to save quite a hefty chunk of cash if they sold the defender now.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold still has a month to run on his contract, and with a reported weekly wage of £180,000, Liverpool stand to save £720,000 just on his wages.

Factor in the fact that Madrid will probably pay a few million for this deal to be done early, and this makes financial sense.

Of course, that’s not tons of money in football, but in an era where clubs such as Manchester United are laying off a lot of club staff, these sorts of quick gains can be valuable at a lower level in terms of keeping things ticking over at a base level.

After all the speculation, it would appear Alexander-Arnold may not even leave Liverpool on a free transfer.
