The summer transfer window has well and truly kicked off for FC Barcelona. For the Catalan giants, the objective is to now reinforce the team in certain key positions. However, Barcelona will need to be mindful of how they approach signings.
For starters, it needs to be understood that the Catalan giants will likely have a limited budget. Despite their sporting dominance this season, especially from a domestic standpoint, the club is still in a process of financial recovery and will need to be careful.
Barcelona already working on various operations
Secondly, the club has made sure that their first priority was to renew the players that they already have. First came the renewal of Raphinha, and then Barcelona made sure to renew the contract of 17-year-old Lamine Yamal as well.

However, there is also a certain player who does not yet belong to Barcelona but the club would reportedly love to have him. That player would be none other than 24-year-old Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who has consistently been linked to the Catalan giants recently.
In pole position to land Joan Garcia
Now, as per the latest report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are the best-placed team to secure the signing of the Spanish goalkeeper. According to the report, the player and his camp really appreciate the efforts being made by the Catalan club.
Moreover, it has even been reported previously that Barça have also already sent in their offer to the player. At the same time, however, the club continues to wait for the player to make his final decision so that they can pay his €25 million release clause as soon as possible.
However, there are other clubs still interested in signing the Spaniard as well. The likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, and Inter Milan have all been linked to the club at one point or another. Still, if the report from MD is to be believed, Barcelona are currently the front-runners to land the player this summer.
