Liverpool parade crash suspect Paul Doyle is set to appear in court today after he was charged with seven offences.

Doyle, 53, from Burghill Road in West Derby, is alleged to have been driving the Ford Galaxy during in the incident while fans were celebrating Liverpool FC's Premier League title win Monday.

Police said 79 people were injured when the car drove into supporters on Water Street at around 6pm, with seven people still in hospital when Merseyside Police revealed his charges yesterday. Neighbours have described Doyle as a "family man".

Two police vans are parked up outside Liverpool magistrates’ court for the appearance of Doyle.

Uniformed officers are also standing in the square outside the court building. Media began queuing at 8am for Doyle’s 9.45am appearance.

Ahead of his appearance in court today, new details have come out providing some insight into Paul Doyle's life.

His online accounts show the 53-year-old has travelled extensively, having visited several Asian nations, including Japan, Fiji and India, and Australia. He also posted pictures online capturing him participating in triathlons and clinbing Mount Kilimanjiro.

Charges authorised against doyle relate to six people, two of them children.

The charges related to children include one of wounding and another of attempted grievous bodily harm.

With the investigation into the car smash still early on, police are seeking input from members of the public who may have seen the incident unfold.

Assistant Police Constable Simms said on Thursday: "We are extremely grateful for the ongoing cooperation of the public who have, and continue to, share their footage and witness accounts with detectives. Their input is vital to our ongoing enquiries.

"I would encourage anyone who has not yet contacted police who may have relevant information to please come forward and contact us. As always, my thoughts remain with victims and everyone impacted."

As Doyle prepares to appear in court, police have said they are seeking the answers to key questions surrounding Monday's incident.

Speaking at the press conference announcing the charges on Thursday, Assistant Chief Constable Sims said detectives are working "tirelessly" to seek the answers to these questions. She said: “I fully understand how this incident has left us all shocked and saddened, and I know many will continue to have concerns and questions.

“Our detectives are working tirelessly, with diligence and professionalism, to seek the answer to all of those questions. When we are able to, we will provide further information."

Doyle was finally identified on Thursday, as detectives were given more time to quiz him over the incident on Monday night.

Police were stationed outside his family home, where Doyle lives with his wife and their three sons. Loved-up pictures on social media show the family enjoying various holidays including Disneyland Florida, Dubai and at the beach.

Merseyside Police and the Crown Prosecution Service are reviewing massive amounts of CCTV relating to Monday's incident.

Jenny Sims, the service's Assistant Chief Constable, said detectives are combing through a "huge volume" of both CCTV and mobile phone footage, while Sarah Hammond, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Crown Prosecution Service in the Mersey-Cheshire region, added footage from several other sources is also being considered.

She said investigators would be looking through CCTV, mobile phones, businesses and dashcams, and considering witness statements, with charges "kept under review" as the investigation continues.

She said: "It is important to ensure every victim gets the justice they deserve."
