Kostas Tsimikas ’ time as a Liverpool player looks to be drawing to a close. The left-back joined the Reds in 2020 immediately after the Reds’ Premier League title triumph, and he looks set to depart with the club once again top of the tree.
The Greece international has never been able to fully establish himself in the Liverpool team, perennially finding himself as Andy Robertson ’s back-up. That has been the case under Arne Slot, despite Robertson’s mixed form in 2024/25.
Tsimikas made just nine Premier League starts all season, two of which came after Liverpool had secured top spot in the league. With the Reds stepping up their interest for Milos Kerkez in recent weeks, a change of the guard at left-back at Anfield feels inevitable this summer.
Robertson has spoken about his desire to remain at Liverpool and fight for his place in the side. That could potentially leave Tsimikas as third choice in that position.
As a result, the 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Leeds United this summer, alongside fellow first-team star Caoimhin Kelleher.
Other Premier League clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been mentioned in recent reports.
But the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele states via his YouTube channel that two other clubs are monitoring the situation. Valencia and Lille are said to be considering a move for the former Olympiacos man, who could cost in the region of £15 million ($20M).

Despite that, Tsimikas indicated in an interview earlier this year that he hopes to remain with Liverpool for many years to come.
“I just feel confident. I feel like the manager believes in me,” he told the club’s website. “When I play, he is always there for me and always shows me that he wants the best for me.
“I really, really enjoy being here with the manager, with the boys. You can always see the smile on my face when I play and when we score a goal.
“It's a big thing for me to say good things but, as I always say, the mirror is the pitch you have to show there exactly what you can do. Nothing is easy, as we know. I'm really, really happy and I will continue to do this for as many years as I can.”
