Over the past few days, Manchester City have gradually been handed hope in their pursuit of AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders.
The midfielder has already cancelled a pre-scheduled vacation and the Italian press saw that as a major sign of a potential move to the Etihad Stadium.
Gazzetta dello Sport report again on the Netherlands international’s future and they believe Manchester City are stepping up their move for him. According to the newspaper, Pep Guardiola’s side want Reijnders ‘immediately’ and intensified contacts on Thursday.
They put forward an offer which is higher than their previous approach, but Milan are standing firm in their stance and want a fee of around €70m to sell their asset.
Reijnders ees the move as a step forward in his career and is fascinated by the idea of playing under Guardiola, and developing his game further under the manager.
The Spaniard is keen on turning the 26-year-old into the ‘new De Bruyne’, and this potential transfer is beginning to look like it’s a matter of when.
