'In the recent hours': What's just happened with Man City and Tijjani Reijnders after transfer…

Manchester City are very eager to bring AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

The 2024/25 campaign was a very disappointing one for everyone associated with the Manchester club, having gone from winning four Premier League titles in a row to needing to secure Champions League football on the final day of the season.

Pep Guardiola will not want to experience this again, and therefore, Man City plan to bring in four or five new faces this summer, one being Reijnders.

Man City have been pursuing Reijnders for weeks now, and Fabrizio Romano has just provided a big update on the deal.

Man City submit first offer for AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders

Reijnders has already said yes to a Manchester City move as the Dutch star is keen to be part of Guardiola’s squad for the 2025/26 season and beyond.

The Premier League giants are also very keen to land the midfielder, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester club have submitted a bid for the Milan star in recent hours.

It was reported this week that Milan want £54m (€60m) to let Reijnders leave for Man City, therefore, the Premier League are not too far away from the Serie A club’s asking price.

Man City’s plan was always to submit a lower offer than what the Italian giants wanted, as they hoped they could land the Dutch star for a little less.

With Milan not ready to accept Man City’s first offer, the Premier League giants are now very likely to match the Serie A club’s asking price for Reijnders, just to get the deal over the line.

Matteo Moretto is reporting that the Manchester club want to get the deal done before their FIFA Club World Cup campaign gets underway, with City kicking the tournament off against Wydad AC on June 18.

As both journalists are reporting, negotiations will continue over the coming days as Reijnders now looks set to become a new Man City player.

The Netherlands international will be a great fit for the Manchester club’s midfield, with the 26-year-old being the first brick in Guardiola’s summer rebuild at the Etihad Stadium.
