Ruben Amorim singles out ‘one thing that’s really important’ at Man Utd, he’s convinced ‘everybody understands’ it

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has set the record straight over the Red Devils’ 2024-25 campaign at Old Trafford ahead of his side’s final post-season tour match.

The Red Devils endured a chaotic season and Manchester United suffered their worst finish in the league table in the Premier League era.

United languished in 15th place after 38 Premier League matches and the Red Devils only managed 11 league wins and endured 18 league defeats alone.

Ruben Amorim watched on from the Old Trafford touchline as United struggled to bounce back in the Premier League after his arrival from Sporting CP last November.

The Red Devils climbed to 15th place on the final day of the Premier League season after United’s 2-0 win over 10-man Aston Villa at Old Trafford last Sunday.

Amorim’s men will be without European football for next season and United’s Europa League final loss to Tottenham also led to them missing out on Champions League football.

Ruben Amorim’s feelings are clear on Man Utd’s 2024-25 season at his pre-match press conference for the Hong Kong clash

Ruben Amorim’s side kicked off their post-season tour of Asia only days after Manchester United’s Premier League result against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

United were in action against ASEAN All-Stars on Wednesday and the Red Devils suffered a shock 1-0 defeat in their friendly match in Malaysia.

Maung Maung Lwin was the difference-maker in the second half and his strike sealed the win for ASEAN All-Stars over United at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Amorim’s men will now sign off their post-season tour of Asia on Friday afternoon with United’s friendly match against the Hong Kong national team.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Amorim made it clear that the Red Devils “need to face” United fans “in this moment” after their dreadful season.

“I think everybody understands it’s a really hard context because we had the season we had, and it’s hard in this moment to face the fans around the world,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“We want to finish this season but at the same time we want to give something to the fans.

“If there’s one thing that’s really important in this club, it’s that we need to face our fans in this moment.”

Ruben Amorim spoke out on his Man Utd team ahead of the match against Hong Kong

United manager Amorim admitted that he will heavily rotate all of the players who are available on the final post-season tour match against Hong Kong.

“We have three players [Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire and Andre Onana] who have gone to India to give something to the fans around the world,” he said on Thursday.

“All of them are going to play [otherwise]. If there is a physical issue, they cannot play. But if they are available, they will play this game.”

United and Hong Kong’s friendly match will be played at the Hong Kong Stadium, with kick-off slated for 1pm UK time on Friday.
