Flamengo’s Cleiton has emerged as new transfer target for Leicester City for the summer window, according to a claim from Brazil.
The defender initially joined the Brazilian club’s youth system from Canaã in 2020 and had to wait for two more years until he made his senior team debut.
Since then, the 22-year-old made a handful of appearances for Flamengo’s first team. To put it in context, he’s played 1,216 minutes from 19 games, of which five are from 2025.
Despite this, the centre-back has managed to attract interest from Leicester City. Flazoeiro took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on the Foxes and Dynamo Kiev efforts to try and sign him.
Cleiton’s contract expires at the end of this year and a renewal isn’t in sight. This has seen Leicester and the Ukrainian club make approaches to sign him. It’s not made clear if they contacted Flamengo, his camp or both.
In addition to Leicester and Dynamo Kiev, an unnamed Primeira Liga club has contacted the player’s agent.
Due to his contract situation, Flazoeiro report the chance of Cleiton changing clubs in the upcoming window is ‘only increasing’.
