Exclusive: Manchester United confident of triple exit to boost funds for Ineos summer transfer window

Manchester United will hope to sell several big names this summer, with Ineos’ rebuild needing to be funded.

This was always required after the horror show that was the 2024-25 season from start to finish.

Manchester United ended the season 15th in the Premier League, which is a low. Ineos could not ignore. Due to this, there could be as many as 13 United players set to leave.

The plan appears to be known around the club, with Harry Maguire saying a lot of United players will leave this summer in a stark warning after an unacceptable season.

Alejandro Garnacho already has one foot out the door, as he looks to be one big-name sale made this summer. However, concerningly, Al-Hilal have agreed terms with Bruno Fernandes’ agent, over a move which would pay United £100m.

But there are three other big names set to leave as well.

Manchester United now confident of selling trio Ruben Amorim wants gone

Manchester United used the loan market very well this season, sending three unwanted forwards out to play their way into a permanent summer transfer.

Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford might all have done that, and now United in Focus have spoken to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, to get the latest on each.

Antony

Antony had an emotional end to life with Real Betis, and now has a big call to make over his future. Antony has already spoken out about his future, insisting he needs to see what happens.

Now, Bailey has shared the latest…

“There is a lot of interest in Antony – but I am told that Ruben Amorim would be open to his possible reintroduction into the squad. So while a sale is most likely…it’s one to keep an eye on.”

Jadon Sancho

Unlike Antony, Sancho had a brilliant last night on loan with Chelsea as he scored in their Conference League final over Betis.

After this, Chelsea are in talks over Sancho’s contract as they are keen to trigger the £25m buy obligation. Now, Bailey has added the latest.

“No matter the outcome of Jadon Sancho’s talks with Chelsea, there is no future for him at United. They are aware of the interest in him, even if Chelsea did not finalise a permanent deal, so they are confident a deal will happen.”

Marcus Rashford

Finally, Rashford’s loan with Aston Villa failed to set the world alight. However, Barcelona look increasingly likely to make a fresh move this summer, with Hansi Flick approving Rashford’s arrival.

Now, Bailey has claimed that a deal could be completed quite soon.

“He is pursuing Barcelona and only Barcelona. Good chance that could be done sooner than we think. Rashford is willing to compromise ‘to a certain extent’ and depending on what deal looks like.”

How much could Manchester United get for Antony, Sancho, and Rashford?

What looked like a substantial loss on all three could end up being a decent little cash boost.

United are demanding £40m for Antony, which is a fee his suitors, such as Atletico Madrid, are willing to pay following an excellent six months in La Liga.

Chelsea will pay the £25m to sign Sancho. This hands United an £11m profit on the Englishman’s remaining book value of £14m.

Finally, United want £40m for Rashford; however, as of now, Barcelona are reluctant to dedicate so much to him.
