Manchester City offering €50m for transfer – Celtic player identified as replacement

Over the past few days, Celtic’s Arne Engels has emerged as a target for Atalanta. It now seems as if the Italian club’s move for the midfielder could depend on Manchester City.

That is because of the Citizens’ interest in Atalanta star Ederson, who has been linked with a host of other Premier League sides as well.

Corriere dello Sport have looked at how the fates of both Celtic and Manchester City are converge in the summer. They state that the Citizens are quite keen on Ederson and he is at the top of Pep Guardiola’s shortlist for the summer transfer window.

In an attempt to land him, Manchester City are offering €50m, as new sporting director Hugo Viana has been assigned a very specific task of bringing the Brazilian to the Etihad.

The report states that Atalanta have been pondering the idea of the midfielder’s exit for a while now and have identified Celtic’s Engels as a replacement. The money earned from Ederson’s departure can be utilised in bringing the Belgian to Bergamo in the summer.
