One final detail left for Alcaraz to Everton transfer – Blues moved quickly yesterday

Everton made the decision to activate Charly Alcaraz’s purchase clause yesterday afternoon, with a decision yet to be made on the length of contract they give the Argentine.

That’s [according to journalist Andre Hernan](https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/videos/2025/05/29/quanto-flamengo-vai-receber-com-venda-de-alcaraz-hernan-revela-valor.htm), who reports that Everton and Alcaraz are deciding between a three- and four-year deal.

Reports yesterday made it clear that Everton have decided to purchase Alcaraz permanently this summer after a successful loan spell in the second half of this season.

The midfielder joined on loan from Flamengo in a deal that included a mandatory purchase clause if he played a certain number of games. That number of games varied between sources in Brazil and Argentina.

A report yesterday stated it was nine Premier League games, something he had not achieved. Everton, though, had activated the clause regardless. It was also claimed that they had moved after reaching an agreement with Alcaraz on personal terms last Wednesday.

Several reports in Brazil followed all saying the same thing, that Everton would be buying the midfielder in a €15m deal, with €3m of addons and had informed Flamengo of their intentions to use the clause.

Hernan backs that up but adds that the only remaining detail is the length of contract that Alcaraz will sign.

“I just received some information here,” he told UOL yesterday evening.

“I was listening to Igor talk about Alcaraz and it goes like this: about three hours ago, according to what I was told here, Everton activated the buyout clause for Alcaraz three hours ago, huh? That’s just now. What’s left now? Charlie Alcaraz’s agreement with Everton.

“There are two possibilities there for Alcaraz’s signing of a contract with Everton. A three-year contract or a four-year contract? That’s the question. Whether the contract will be long, a four-year contract or a three-year contract. But it’s already activated. Everton has already activated the final buyout clause with Flamengo, so that’s it.”
