Former Seahawks wide receiver rips Steelers star DK Metcalf: “Slightly overrated’

One former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver believes Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf is not the star everyone believes he is on the field.

Former Seahawks wide receiver Bryan Walters thinks Metcalf will have some success with the Steelers but believes he is overrated.

“I’ve been very vocal about kind of my thoughts on DK as a wide receiver... and you know, maybe I’ll be a little nice I guess, but slightly overrated,” Walters said. “I think he’s gonna do well in Pittsburgh, but at the same time I just think that they really revamped this wide receiver room to fit that Kubiak scheme and a lot of guys that are better route runners and guys that just kinda complement each other. I think JSN and Cooper Kupp are gonna be so fun to watch together.”

A two-time Pro Bowler, Metcalf has shined with the Seahawks, and has connections to the Steelers. He played with Russell Wilson, whose moonball helped unlock Metcalf as a deep threat throughout his early years with the Seahawks.

Metcalf and the Steelers have also agreed to a five-year, $150 million deal. That is the richest deal in team history, and Metcalf now becomes the bonafide WR1 for the Steelers.

Now, Metcalf will take over as the top wide receiver with the Steelers after they traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys.
