A number of Leicester players and ex men are out on international duty the next weeks. We will keep you up to date with the happenings. Nigeria and Ghana started the show on Wednesday, playing each other in a friendly at the Brentford stadium in London.
Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho were all on the field for Nigeria. Ghana had Jordan Ayew in their line-up. The result, a 2-1 win for Nigeria. Ayew had a major chance to score for Ghana, but his shot went wide. Current Leicester duo Ayew and Ndidi captained their respective nations from start. Ahmed Musa is on a special run, playing his 110th game for Nigeria. The 32 year old former Leicester player is back in Nigeria representing Kano Pillars in club football. Musa and Iheanacho came on in the 62nd minute.
Academy and Development player Louis Page has been busy this week. He is representing England in the UEFA European U17 Championships. England bowed out of the tournament, despite a 4-2 win vs. Czech Republic in their last outing. Page came on as a sub. Page played from start in the fatal and most vital game vs. Italy, seeing a 2-4 defeat. He also started the first match vs. Belgium, ending in a 1-1 draw. Reigan Heskey, the son of Emile, also played his part, representing Manchester City.
Trinidad and Tobago played Jamaica at Brentford on the 27th of May. Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Demarai Gray were both missing. Brandon Cover made the squad, but Steve McClaren never played him. Jamaica 3-2 winners on the night. Jamaica will play Nigeria in their next game in this mini tournament named Unity Cup.
A number of players with Leicester relations will be in international action over the coming weeks. Chris Popov and Danny Ward could both be in action for Wales. Ward in the full squad for games vs. Belgium and Liechtenstein. Popov in the U.21 squad facing Norway on the 6th of June.
Jannik Vestergaard and Kasper Schmeichel are both in the Denmark squad for their friendlies vs. Lithuania and Northern Ireland. Mads Hermansen and Victor Kristiansen were not included, Hermansen out injured, Kristiansen not selected.
Patson Daka is set to return to the national team for the first time since November last year.

There’s also friendly action for Zambia, with Patson Daka in line for minutes against vs. Tunisia on Tuesday 10 June. Woyo Coulibaly is in the Mali squad. They face DR Congo at Stade de la Source in France on Thursday 5 June. Hamza Choudhury will line up for Bangladesh for their Asian Cup Qualification Play-Off against Singapore coming up on 10 June.
Kasey McAteer is in the Republic of Ireland squad for their friendlies vs. Senegal and Luxembourg. Tom Cannon did not make the squad. Nampalys Mendy has not been called up to the Senegal squad. Senegal will also face England on this June tour. Harry Maguire and James Maddison are either in the squad. Ivan Toney and Harry Kane are the two with minor Leicester relation. England will play Senegal and Andorra.
Wout Faes and Youri Tielemans are in the Belgium squad for their World Cup qualifiers vs. Wales and North Macedonia. Chris Wood is in the New Zealand squad for their two games over in Canada. There are games vs. Ivory Coast and Ukraine. Lens and former Leicester academey player Cedric Kipre is named in the Ivory Coast squad.
Bilal El Khannouss will be up for a heavy schedule. Morocco. El Khannouss might have played his last game for Leicester. He is being lined up as transfer target for Wolves and Arsenal. He will most certainly be in action for his country facing Benin and Tunisia.
