The Cleveland Browns were the talk of the 2025 NFL Draft after trading down and selecting Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham. What exactly are the Browns getting in their new defender, and what kind of a player does his tape show?
Last time, we looked at Graham's outing against the Texas Longhorns' formidable offensive line. While Graham wasn't particularly flashy, he was consistent. Two weeks later, the Wolverines welcomed the USC Trojans to Ann Arbor, and the defending champs were victorious, thanks in no small part to a borderline dominant performance by Graham. As usual, the majority of his impact wasn't reflected on the stat sheet, but it was evident on every snap.
In the first clip below, Graham wins with a swim move against Jonah Monheim, who was selected in the seventh round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Monheim played a lot of football for USC, and had the second-lowest-graded game of his collegiate career against Graham. The second clip goes even worse for Monheim, who is caught leaning too much in an effort to fight Graham's power. Graham uses this to his advantage, executing a violent swim move that literally sends Monheim flying. It's a comical moment, and Graham ends up nearly getting the sack, but does force the quarterback out of the pocket where he makes an uncatchable throw.
