Real Madrid will pay a £8.4m fee to Liverpool in order to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in time for the Club World Cup.
Alexander-Arnold had already agreed to join Madrid on a free transfer but that meant he would not move to the Spanish club until after his contract expired on June 30.
However, Madrid have now agreed to pay Liverpool a €10m (£8.4m) fee in order to sign Alexander-Arnold when the summer transfer window briefly opens on June 1.
The transfer window will remain open until June 10 in order for teams to strengthen ahead of the Club World Cup and will close again until June 16.
Madrid’s initial offer of £850,000 was rejected but the Spanish club have now agreed to pay a €10m (£8.4m) fee, while Liverpool will save on wages and bonuses for June.
