Arsenal next three transfers decided after Benjamin Sesko breakthrough

Arsenal have already started activating their summer transfer plans with a huge Benjamin Sesko breakthrough coming after a full agreement was reached to sign Martin Zubimendi.

The Spain international has rejected moves to Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and even the Gunners in recent years in order to stay at Real Sociedad. However, he will now embark on a new challenge with his £51million release clause set to be activated.

A medical to finalise his transfer to Arsenal is now in the process of being scheduled with the club free to confirm his arrival in 48 hours as the summer trading period opens on Sunday.

With several of their Premier League rivals also moving quickly to wrap up deals before the window briefly closes due to the Club World Cup, Arsenal are showing no signs of being left behind as transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has recently revealed that initial concrete talks for Sesko have started.

The Slovenian is Mikel Arteta's priority striker signing with sporting director Andrea Berta more intrigued by Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP. The latest update however, suggests the Arsenal boss has got his way and Sesko will be an Arsenal player next season if all goes well.

There have been varying reports on his price tag with his release believed to be £66million (€80m). However, the Telegraph have claimed Leipzig are demanding £92.5million to sell him this summer.

Given the vast difference in those sums, Arsenal could negotiate a fee in the middle of that with just under £150million committed to the signings of Sesko and Zubimendi.

Following a huge breakthrough for the latter, football.london revealed that Arsenal also wanted to bring in a striker, wide forward, defender and back-up goalkeeper. With focus now on an addition up top, the final months of this summer's window will likely be used to complete transfers in those three other positions.

There are several winger options for Arsenal with Leroy Sane, Bryan Mbeumo, Nico Williams and Rodrygo just a few that have been linked. The Real Madrid star, valued at £84million (€100m), is arguably the biggest name that could make the move.

Further back, Dean Huijsen was the No.1 target but he chose to join Real Madrid over remaining in the Premier League with any of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool or Bournemouth.

Ajax's Jorrel Hato is a long-term target that can play in the centre of defence and left-back. Considering the amount of first-team defenders under contract, the Gunners look to be intent on signing a young player as opposed to the experience wanted for other positions.

And finally, Joan Garcia of Espanyol is the clear choice in between the sticks but Arsenal will face some serious competition. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Newcastle United are all interested in signing the 24-year-old Spaniard with a £21million (€25m) release clause in his contract.
