Club ‘moving forward’ with move for Bournemouth man – Waiting on Cherries response

Brazilian side Grêmio are ‘moving forward’ with an effort for Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto, with a loan deal being discussed for the 35-year-old.

That’s according to Rádio Hospício Tricolor, [via Antenados No Futebol](https://www.antenadosnofutebol.com.br/mercado-da-bola/gremio-avanca-pelo-contratacao-do-goleiro-neto-que-joga-no-bournemouth-da-inglaterra-negocio-por-emprestimo), who say the club are talking to the goalkeeper and he’s open to a return to his homeland.

They state Grêmio’s management are currently sending a loan deal to Bournemouth for the 35-year-old. It’s currently unclear whether the Cherries will accept such a deal.

Any transfer appears to be in the very early stages, with nothing finalised and news only expected at the end of the week.

Neto spent last season on loan at Arsenal as the backup for David Raya but only managed four appearances and 360 minutes in total across all competitions.

He’ll be returning to Bournemouth this summer but its yet to be determined what their plans are with him. His contract with them runs until June 2026 so they would presumably be against a loan deal unless there is some form of financial gain for them.

Grêmio have made their first moves nonetheless, and Neto’s openness to return to Brazil could help sway things.
