Report: Aston Villa now want to sign ‘insane’ 6ft 6 star who was ‘best in his league last…

Aston Villa are monitoring Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, who would be available for between £10 and £12.5 million this summer, according to Ben Jacobs.

Under the guidance of Unai Emery, Villa have secured European football for the third consecutive season. While they fell short of a second-straight Champions League campaign on the final day of the Premier League season, it is still a far cry from battling relegation, which Villa were doing until Emery’s 2022 appointment.

The Spaniard has been simply incredible for the Villans, returning them to a position of competing for a place within the top six. With their season now at an end, it is no surprise that Villa already have an eye on the upcoming summer transfer window.

Star goalkeeper Emi Martinez has been linked with a move away from Villa Park and should the Argentinian depart, it seems the Midlands side already have a replacement shot-stopper lined up.

Marcin Bulka for Nice

Ben Jacobs has reported that Villa are interested in Marcin Bulka, Nice’s Polish number one who has been with the club since 2021. A Chelsea youth product, Bulka is a former Paris Saint-Germain player, but joined Nice, initially on loan, after failing to break into the Parisians’ first team.

Bulka has steadily developed, eventually blossoming into Nice’s first-choice goalkeeper by the 2023/24 campaign. He helped the club qualify for the most-recent edition of the Europa League and the form of Bulka, dubbed "insane" for his ability, has evidently attracted the attention of potential suitors, such as Aston Villa.

Martinez would need to leave for Bulka to join, as the keeper would, presumably, not want to revert to being second choice. A towering figure with quick reflexes and great distribution, Bulka is just 25 years old and should Villa manage to sign him for nothing higher than £12.5 million, it would be an exceptional bit of business.
