Christian Eriksen sends message to fans ahead of Man Utd exit, Joshua Zirkzee makes true feelings known

Joshua Zirkzee responded after Christian Eriksen issued a heartfelt message to Manchester United fans before his contract expires next month.

It will be a summer of change at Manchester United following a turbulent campaign.

The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League and reached the Europa League final before losing to Tottenham Hotspur.

As United head coach Ruben Amorim has endured a difficult first six months in the job, he is now tasked with drastically improving the team ahead of next season.

That means getting rid of players deemed surplus to requirements and signing upgrades to help bring success in the future.

United have already announced that three players will leave next month, including Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans.

They won’t be the only players to be shown the door at Old Trafford this summer.

During his time at United, Eriksen had three different managers, including Erik ten Hag, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Amorim.

The experienced midfielder went on to make 107 appearances for United, scoring eight goals and registering 18 assists.

At the age of 33, Eriksen still made an impressive number of appearances (35) for United this season, even more than he managed (25) the previous season.

Following United’s announcement that Eriksen will leave the club next month, the player has taken to his social media to express his gratitude.

Eriksen issued a ‘huge thank you’ to all the fans who have supported him throughout his time at United, as well as the ‘hardworking people’ at Carrington and Old Trafford, and his teammates.

Joshua Zirkzee responds to Eriksen’s farewell message

The summer transfer window can be a difficult time for footballers.

For some, like Eriksen, they have to face stepping down to a smaller club because they’re reaching the latter stages of their career.

That can also be difficult for their teammates who have struck close friendships during their time together.

One United player who will miss Eriksen is Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutch forward was Eriksen’s first United teammate to respond to the Instagram post, with a comment that read: “I’m going to miss you friend.”

Former United defender Daley Blind also commented with a love heart emoji.
