Sky Sports: Leeds now eyeing move to sign ‘world-class’ Premier League star as talks held

Leeds United have joined the transfer battle to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer, Sky Sports has revealed.

The Whites are in search of a first-choice goalkeeper ahead of their Premier League return and have earmarked the Irish shot-stopper as a target amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Anfield.

Kelleher is expected to leave Liverpool after struggling for regular minutes once again this season, and the Reds are unlikely to stand in the 'world-class' 26-year-old’s way.

Arne Slot’s side are set to welcome Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia this summer, who will compete with Alisson for the starting spot next season.

According to Sky Sports, Kelleher is wanted by at least three English clubs this summer, with Leeds potentially facing competition from Brentford and West Ham.

Thomas Frank’s side are believed to have already approached Liverpool earlier this week, as they look to replace Bayer Leverkusen-bound Mark Flekken, who could soon reunite with former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.

Brentford are now reportedly in ‘pole position’ to sign Kelleher, whom Liverpool value at more than £20m this summer.

Leeds, meanwhile, are looking to bring in Premier League-proven players ahead of their top-flight return and are believed to be considering a free transfer move for West Ham full-back Vladimir Coufal.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, the Whites have enquired about the Czech international ahead of his contract expiry at the London Stadium next month.

Everton are also believed to hold an interest in the 32-year-old, whom their boss David Moyes knows well from their time together at West Ham.
