Manchester United could be braced for the departure of Bruno Fernandes amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Fernandes' future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent days following the conclusion of United's season. The Portuguese international is wanted by Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, and the player's agent has already held talks over a potential £100million transfer.
United have refused to rule out a potential sale for Fernandes, and the Manchester Evening News understands that the player himself is seriously considering leaving Old Trafford.
Club sources are relaxed about the situation and are willing to listen to offers for any member of their squad, including Fernandes.
The summer transfer window is set to open on Sunday, with FIFA allowing clubs to do business early thanks to the Club World Cup until June 10th, before reopening again for the rest of the summer on June 16.
Even though the transfer window opens on Sunday, there won't be a lot of time to get a deal completed for Fernandes to move to Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal are keen to get a deal over the line before the start of the Club World Cup.
The Saudi Pro League club will play three fixtures in the group stage of the tournament against Real Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca, with their first fixture taking place on June 18.
However, the MEN understands Al-Hilal would want a deal agreed with United before the start of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in the United States.
Fernandes was signed by United in January 2020 for a deal worth up to £67.7million from Sporting Lisbon.
He has since gone on to be named the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year at United four times, including earlier this month for his efforts in the 2024/25 season.
