Arsenal come into the summer transfer window with one key priority – sign a striker.
Arsenal will sign a striker this summer, and they’ve had a few options in mind for a while.
Alexander Isak has been linked to Arsenal, while Viktor Gyokeres has been an Arsenal target for a while.
However, it appears as though Arsenal have settled on Benjamin Sesko as their top striker target.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing Arsenal’s links to Sesko, and he’s heard something slightly different about this deal.

Benjamin Sesko could cost £67m
Reports emerged this week that RB Leipzig’s asking price for Benjamin Sesko stands at £92m.
That’s a lot of money, and would represent the second-biggest signing in Arsenal’s history.
However, according to Dean Jones, his sources are suggesting that Sesko could be available for just €80m (£67m) this summer due to a release clause.
“The big thing that is being spoken about as I record this is Arsenal and Benjamin Sesko,” Jones said.
“I’m not convinced, as Fabrizio has put it today, he’s always been high on the list, this is the story that is doing the rounds, it’s not just Fabrizio, everyone is jumping on this story.
“Is Sesko a man to score 20 goals in the Premier League? He could be, he could be.
“There’s no doubt Sesko is great, but I always thought they were going to go for Gyokeres, but I’m wrong it seems, it’s been 50/50 for weeks now.
“The Sesko news is new news, a week ago I checked with Arsenal and they were adamant there were no direct contacts on Sesko, but that doesn’t matter, there is now.
“The Telegraph are reporting that Leipzig’s price for Sesko would be nearly £100m, it would be £92m. We have to see where that ends up. It’s a huge transfer.
“I’m just getting a text, to see if I can get any insight. The guy is saying that it was six days ago Andrea Berta made contact, Mikel Arteta is on board with this one, and he says that the release clause of €80m (£67m) stands, so we’ll have to see what happens with pricing.”
Arsenal’s record signings
£67m for Sesko is a much better price than £92m, but it’s still a very expensive deal.
Indeed, this would make Sesko the third-most expensive player in Arsenal’s history.
Arsenal’s record signings Fee
Declan Rice £105m
Nicolas Pepe £72m
Kai Havertz £65m
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang £57m
Ben White £50m
Sesko will arrive at Arsenal with a lot of pressure on his shoulders as Arsenal have been looking for this striker solution for years at this point.
However, with Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta both on board with this signing, the Gunners clearly feel they’ve identified the right player here.
Arsenal aren’t a million miles away from winning major honours next year, and it remains to be seen if Sesko will be the answer to the north London club’s prayers.
