'Great professional' - Amorim sends farewell message to Manchester United star who is certain…

Man Utd faced Hong Kong in their final post-season friendly match on Friday afternoon.

At least one Manchester United star is certain to have played their final game for the club in the post-season friendly match against Hong Kong on Friday. United lost 1-0 to ASEAN All-Stars in Malaysia in midweek and looked for an improved performance for the second match of their Asian tour.

Ruben Amorim named a strong starting line up for the clash, with Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both selected from the start amid fresh speculation over their respective futures. Garnacho has been told he can find a new club in the summer window while Fernandes is the subject of serious transfer interest from Al-Hilal.

It seems likely one of those players could leave the club in the coming weeks, and they will not be the only players to depart the club this summer. Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen were not named in the post-season tour squad as they look for new clubs, though Jonny Evans was. The 37-year-old will become a free agent next month but was also named in the line up to face Hong Kong in what was his final appearance for the club.

Ruben Amorim hails Jonny Evans

Speaking ahead of kick-off in Hong Kong, Ruben Amorim piled the praise on Jonny Evans before what is certain to be his final appearance for the club. "He has been a great professional. Whenever he has been fit, he has trained well with very high standards," he told MUTV.

"He has also proven on the pitch that he is a very good player. The level that he has in training, you can see the standards he had in his prime and why they won so many titles. When he was fit to train the level was really high. I also want Evans to help the young kids beside him."

Evans made 241 appearances during his two spells with United, scoring eight goals and registering seven assists. He helped the club win three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the FA Cup and two League Cup titles.
