Gordon Strachan has told Alejandro Garnacho to grow up and find another club - because he is nowhere near good enough for Manchester United.

The Argentina winger has been sulking ever since he failed to make Ruben Amorim's startling line-up for the Europa League final. Amorim then axed him from his squad altogether for the final game of the season at home to Aston Villa.

The United boss has told Garnacho to seek a move elsewhere, and gave him a dressing down in front of the entire squad. And former United star Strachan admits it would be best all around if Garnacho took his "whingeing and whining” elsewhere.

Strachan told Esports Insider: "Garnacho's got to go. I think he shows a lack of maturity and needs a real wake-up call. Manchester United are far too good of a club to listen to him whingeing and whining all the time.

"You wonder what the players at Manchester United are thinking about Alejandro Garnacho’s actions.

"He should be looking after his team-mates after they lost the Europa League final, not promoting himself with his comments.

"If he doesn’t want to be a team player then I think it’s best he just goes somewhere else.

"If the manager decides he's not picking you, you've got to think of the reason, and quite often that starts by looking at yourself.

"In life the best thing to do when something isn't going your way, or you have issues, is to look at yourself and think whether it stems from you.

"It's rare that players take that stance anymore, and look at themselves before whining about their problems."
