Brentford manager Thomas Frank has insisted they won’t be selling Bryan Mbeumo on the cheap this summer, despite not entirely ruling out an exit.
[Tipsbladet](https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/premier-league/thomas-frank-advarer-bliver-monsterdyrt) cover comments from the Brentford manager today made to ViaPlay, in which he lays down a marker for any clubs interest in Mbeumo this summer.
Mbeumo has been the star man again for the Bees this season, with 20 goals and nine assists in all competitions. All of his goals and eight of those assists came in 38 games in the Premier League.
It continued a rapid rise at Brentford for the Cameroon international, who has 70 goals and 51 assists in 242 appearances since arriving for €6.5m from Troyes in 2019.
He’s been linked with a big money move away from Brentford this summer as a result, with the Bees making it clear they’d be happy to see for the right place.
Frank has been one of those making such claims but now wants to make it clear that he and Brentford won’t be sanctioning any deal for Mbeumo that doesn’t include a huge fee being paid for the 25-year-old.
_“It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount. It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot,”_ he said.
_“Then it is clear that it is impossible to replace him one for one. It cannot be done. There is a reason why he costs x number of million pounds, and we do not have x number of million pounds to buy for._
_“I would say that I would be surprised if a lot of big clubs don’t look at him. I would be surprised with what he has to offer. How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player.”_
