Minnesota Timberwolves forward Naz Reid is expected to decline his player option for next season and enter free agency in pursuit of a longer-term contract, whether with the Timberwolves or another team
The Minnesota Timberwolves saw their season come to an end in the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year, this time falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 1–4 series defeat.

While the campaign was largely positive, significant changes may be on the horizon for the T-Wolves, as several key players are set to enter free agency this offseason.
One of the most notable names is fan favorite Naz Reid, who is expected to command a much higher salary next season.
Reid holds a $15 million player option for next year but is widely expected to decline it in pursuit of a longer-term deal—either with Minnesota or another team, according to Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune.
Julius Randle is another player to watch. He has a player option worth around $30 million for next season. Reports suggest Randle is happy in Minnesota and enjoys playing under head coach Chris Finch, making it likely he’ll either opt in or re-sign with the team.
Meanwhile, Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s future with the Timberwolves appears the most uncertain. Given the team’s limited cap space, it's unlikely they’ll be able to retain all three players, and Alexander-Walker is expected to be the odd man out.
However, Minnesota could explore a sign-and-trade deal to recoup assets before letting him walk in free agency.
