REPORT: Arsenal At Risk Of Losing Myles Lewis-Skelly To Real Madrid Amid“Not Going Well”Claim

Arsenal are reportedly at risk of losing defender Myles Lewis-Skelly if they don’t extend his contract soon.

The 18-year-old has had a breakthrough year at the Emirates, making his debut for the club during a 2-2 draw against Manchester City in September. He became a fan favourite very quickly thanks to his hard-tackling and passion that he shows in red and white.

Lewis-Skelly made 23 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season, and is set to become a mainstay in Mikel Areta’s starting XI, however, it has now been reported that the Gunners are risk of losing him.

According to the Sun, Lewis-Skelly is being monitored by Real Madrid as there is only one year left on his contract at Arsenal. The report says that contract negotiations at Arsenal are “not going well” and that Madrid could try and swoop in to land the 18-year-old.

This would be a huge blow for the Gunners as he is currently estimated to be worth around £23.5m, however, due to his huge potential, Arsenal would value him much higher, so if he leaves for free next year, it would be somewhat of a disaster.

What has Lewis-Skelly said about his future?

The 18-year-old hasn’t spoken out about his future and the speculation surrounding his contract at Arsenal, but he has talked about his desire to keep growing as a player for the Gunners.

He told the Arsenal Website earlier in the season: “I’ve really enjoyed being involved with the team. This is what, as a boy, I really wanted to achieve – playing first-team football, getting minutes for the first team.”

“Now the next step is, can I keep doing it? Can I keep maintaining my level? Can I keep reaching new heights? And that’s what I’m trying to do at the moment.”
