GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — An East Valley school is set to honor an alumnus who helped to carry the Oklahoma City Thunder to the 2025 NBA Finals.
Perry High School in Gilbert will unveil “Jalen Williams Way” next week to recognize its basketball standout. Williams was named to his first All-Star game this year, along with being voted to the All-NBA Third Team and All-Defensive Second Team.
He’ll soon look to bring an NBA Championship to Oklahoma City.
While Williams was a Perry Puma, the team appeared in the state semifinals, and he was named to the All-Conference team. He went on to play at Santa Clara University before the Thunder drafted him 12th overall in 2022.

The school held a similar ceremony for alumnus Brock Purdy before the San Francisco 49ers quarterback appeared in Super Bowl 58.
