EAGAN, MN — The Minnesota Vikings are extending their commitment to General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who has agreed to a multiyear contract extension, the team announced Friday. Specific details from the deal were not released.

Adofo-Mensah was entering the final year of his initial four-year deal, signed in January 2022.

"Kwesi’s leadership, vision and collaboration with our coaching staff has positioned the Minnesota Vikings for sustained success," said Owner/President Mark Wilf. "His dedication and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in shaping our roster and future."

The Vikings’ ownership group credited Adofo-Mensah for his "bold" and collaborative approach, particularly his partnership with Head Coach Kevin O’Connell, who also signed an extension earlier this year.

"We are extremely excited to continue this journey with Kwesi in this role and confident in the direction he and Kevin are leading our organization," said Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf. "Kwesi's commitment to building a championship-caliber team and his ability to collaborate effectively and make bold, calculated decisions has positioned the Vikings for long-term success."

Adofo-Mensah said he is "beyond excited to continue this journey" with the organization and emphasized the strong working relationship he’s developed with O’Connell and the entire staff.

"This organization means so much to me, and I’ve always believed in what we’re building here," Adofo-Mensah said. "From the ownership to the incredible staff, there’s a true commitment to creating a winning culture with the goal of competing year in and year out."

Since taking over in 2022, Adofo-Mensah and O’Connell have guided the Vikings to a 34-17 regular season record, a .667 win percentage that ranks sixth in the NFL during that span, behind only the Chiefs, Eagles, Bills, Lions, and Ravens.

The Vikings have remained competitive while undergoing significant personnel changes and navigating key injuries, the team's front office noted.

Adofo-Mensah helped assemble one of the strongest free agent classes in franchise history in 2024, adding quarterback Sam Darnold, running back Aaron Jones, and pass rushers Andrew Van Ginkel and Jonathan Greenard.

That offseason helped propel Minnesota to a 14-3 regular season record, the second-best in team history.

He followed that by aggressively maneuvering in the 2024 NFL Draft, trading up to No. 10 to select quarterback J.J. McCarthy, the highest draft selection the Vikings have ever used on a QB. Minnesota also jumped to No. 17 to take pass rusher Dallas Turner.

The front office stayed active in 2025, targeting the trenches in both free agency and the draft. Key additions included defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave, center Ryan Kelly, and guard Will Fries. The Vikings then used their first-round pick in the 2025 draft to select offensive lineman Donovan Jackson from Ohio State.

Adofo-Mensah has also been known for bold in-season trades, acquiring tight end T.J. Hockenson in 2022 and quarterback Joshua Dobbs after Kirk Cousins’ injury in 2023. In 2024, he dealt for offensive tackle Cam Robinson, who filled in after Christian Darrisaw’s season-ending injury and helped spark a nine-game winning streak from Weeks 9 to 17.

"This extension signifies we are on solid ground with the long-term vision we have set, and I’m incredibly excited to work with this group of talented people as we continue to push the boundaries of what this franchise can achieve," Adofo-Mensah said.

During Adofo-Mensah’s tenure, multiple Vikings have earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors, including Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, Andrew Van Ginkel, and long snapper Andrew DePaola.
