could be set for a major summer of change as the transfer window moves ever closer.

United are currently in their post-season tour in Asia, which has so far included trips to Malaysia and Hong Kong. Away from the action on the pitch, there continues to be developments with transfer speculation dominating the headlines.

The Manchester Evening News have reported that Bruno Fernandes could leave United this summer amid interest from Al-Hilal. It's understood Fernandes is giving serious consideration to leaving Old Trafford for a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Fernandes' agent held talks with Al-Hilal this week over a proposed £100million transfer. It's thought the Saudi Pro League outfit would want a deal agreed to sign Fernandes before the start of the Club World Cup, with the transfer window opening for 10 days on Sunday.

If Fernandes does leave the club this summer, it would present a major challenge for United to replace him. Not just the captain's armband but also the creative spark in midfield that has been so valuable to the club since his arrival in 2020 from Sporting Lisbon.

United could already be on the path to replacing Fernandes based on their first piece of transfer business this summer.

Wolves star Matheus Cunha is a target for United and is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Old Trafford. The Brazilian has a £62.5million release clause in his contract at Molineux, with various reports suggesting a deal is close to being agreed.

Cunha and Fernandes typically play in different positions, with the Wolves star in the forward line or as a No.10. Fernandes, meanwhile, has been utilised in midfield the majority of his United career, although Ruben Amorim has started Fernandes further forward at times this season.

Fernandes has been one of United's most creative players during his time at Old Trafford. An exit could see the club look to Cunha to fill the void left by the Portugal international's departure, but a lot has to happen for this reality to become real.
