West Ham have made an official approach to bring a new striker to the London Stadium this summer.
With the way the previous campaign fizzled out, it remains evident that this summer is going to be huge for West Ham as they attempt to compete back towards the top of the Premier League table.
However, in order to achieve that, recruitment is going to be crucial, and with several players already linked with a move to the London Stadium, it seems as though the Irons are prepared to give Graham Potter the tools he will need to achieve that.
One of the names linked with the Hammers concerns a striker, whom West Ham have made an approach to sign this summer.

With Evan Ferguson returning to Brighton after what can only be deemed as a failed loan spell at West Ham, the need for a new striker has never been more evident.

One of the names to have been linked with West Ham is Jonathan David, who, according to a report from The i Paper (30 May), has been the subject of an enquiry from the Hammers, alongside several other Premier League clubs.

David has had a remarkable season in France.
David will be leaving Lille this summer, with his contract expiring, and it is said that Naplogi currently lead the chase to sign the Canadian, though that could change.
David’s camp is said to have been “impressed by what Graham Potter is planning for West Ham”, which could benefit the Irons in their attempts to sign him.
Given the absence of a transfer fee, his signing would be a major coup for whoever can secure his signature this summer.

Potter needs to be backed this summer
If Potter remains in charge of West Ham, it is crucial that he is backed with signings in the summer transfer window, or else he is on a path to nowhere.
West Ham have a good squad, but are missing a few key pieces, and without that, there’s very little chance of their fortunes changing next season.
The Iorns will be afforded no margin for error when it comes to the decisions that they make this summer.
