The Green Bay Packers signed Josh Jacobs last offseason. Jacobs proved to be the primary focal point of the offense in 2024 despite Jordan Love being the quarterback of this offense.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8) celebrates scoring a touchdown with wide receiver Bo Melton (80) against the San Francisco 49ers during their football game Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
He had a pro bowl caliber season in 2024. Jacobs will be the three-down back in 2025, but hopefully the Packers can provide help for him at the running back position. Where was he ranked on pro football focus top 32 running back rankings?

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8) stiff-arms Houston Texans safety Eric Murray (23) during the third quarter of their game Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Trevor Sikkema of pro football focus ranked his Top 32 running backs entering the 2025 NFL season. To no surprise, Jacobs was ranked in the Top 5 at number five. Sikkema said about the Packers star running back,
“Jacobs’ 93.0 PFF rushing grade over the past three seasons trails only Derrick Henry. He earned a 91.3 PFF rushing grade in 2024, with an equally impressive and impactful 89.2 PFF receiving grade. He’s the total package.”
Jacobs rushed for 1,329 yards on 301 carries and 15 touchdowns, along with averaging 4.4 yards per carry. He also caught 36 passes for 342 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 9.5 yards per reception. He was ranked sixth in the NFL in rushing yards, and he also was ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing touchdowns during the 2024 NFL season.
The only players who are ranked ahead of him on the list are Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions, Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons, Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens. If Jacobs is healthy for the Packers during the 2025 NFL season, there is no doubt that he will be a Top 5 running back once again. However, going from Jacobs to Marshawn Lloyd on this team is a massive drop off.
