The Christian Kirk experiment didn't work out in Jacksonville, but it sounds like his best NFL days might not be behind him after all.

After an underwhelming season with the Jaguars that led to the team cutting him one year into the deal that he signed before the 2024 season, Kirk landed with the Texans this offseason. And while there aren't a ton of expectations for what Kirk can bring to Houston's offense, he's already earning praise from a few of his teammates. After one Texans' OTAs session, star wide receiver Nico Collins had glowing priase for Houston's newest wide receiver.
Christian Kirk had an impressive couple days at Jaguars OTAs

"Everything. Everything has impressed me," [Collins said](https://www.nfl.com/news/texans-wr-nico-collins-slot-magician-christian-kirk-impressing-in-houston?campaign=Twitter_atn). "His work ethic, what he brings to the field, his leadership and just his advice. He is a guy that you need to get advice from. He has been around this game for a long time, so it's only right that you learn from him. I'm glad he is a part of this unit and glad he is a part of this team. It's only right that we build and keep going ... 'Slot magician man," he added. 'Slot magic man, he is in the slot going crazy. That's one guy you need. Just another playmaker. Another guy in the offense that's going to make plays and that's one of them.'"
On one hand, it's nice to hear that Kirk is playing well and starting to look a little like his former self, even if that isn't necessarily in Jacksonville. Even if it is just OTAs, it sounds like he's made an impression on the team already. On the other hand, having this happen on a AFC South rival is the start of yet another Jaguars nightmare.
It'll be interesting to see how Kirk continues to grow into the Texans' offense, and if the Jaguars end up regretting letting him walk after just one (albeit very underwhelming) season.
