“Information doesn’t add up” – Journalist dismisses Chelsea transfer story, not in Blues’ plans

Chelsea have no interest in Vasco forward Rayan, despite reports suggesting that they keen on the 18-year-old.

That’s [according to journalist Jorge Nicola](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTqS_r9JJAA), who says such reports of Chelsea’s interest are wide of the mark.

Reports throughout this week have linked Chelsea with a move for the 18-year-old Brazilian forward, who has eight goals and two assists in 63 games for Vasco’s first team to date.

The Blues have been keen to dip into the Brazilian market in the last few years, securing deals for the likes of Andrey Santos, Estevao, Deivid Washington, Angelo and Denner as they continue to scoop up talent for the future.

The belief was that Rayan could be added to that list and potentially sent to sister club RC Strasbourg in France to continue his development. The Ligue 1 side have become something of a training ground for Chelsea’s youngsters under BlueCo.

Reports had the deal progressing and Chelsea potentially closing in on their man, but Nicola wants to pour cold water all over that today with his own information.

“Anyway, let’s talk about Rayan now, reporting on information that comes from Rio de Janeiro and that the 18-year-old Vasco forward is of interest to Chelsea,” he said on his YouTube channel, discussing various Brazilian transfers.

“The people from the Na Torcida Vascaínos channel named all the members of Chelsea’s scouting department to explain how Ryan ended up being chosen by Chelsea.

“The names are all very correct, but the information doesn’t add up. The information I have is that Chelsea has no intention of signing Ryan. He is not part of the English club’s plans, much less for the amounts quoted between €15-20m.

“The article also pointed out that Chelsea’s idea was to take Rayan before the U-20 World Cup. The striker has been the target of recent offers, but Pedrinho has already made it clear that he will only agree to do business for R$100m or more.”
