**Real Madrid** have reached agreement with Liverpool to sign **Trent Alexander-Arnold** in time for Club World Cup. Real Madrid will pay €10m guaranteed fee. Liverpool will also save his wages & bonuses. It’s a 6yr deal. (David Ornstein, Athletic)
**Gulf News verdict:** It’s not a free transfer after all. Incredible negotiations from Michael Edwards & co at Liverpool to get a fee for a player whose contract was about to finish at the end of June. Real Madrid wanted to do this quickly because they want Trent to represent them at the Club World Cup, which commences on June 14 in the USA. The European giants have injury issues in the right-back area and they couldn’t wait.
**Manchester United** officials have held talks with Napoli over a move for **Victor Osimhen**. Napoli would be willing to sell for €40M + Rasmus Højlund. (Source: Il Napolista)
**Gulf News verdict:** It’s not a reliable source at all. We know Manchester United are in the market for a striker, but a swap deal of this magnitude is usually very unlikely to happen. We have to wait for credible outlets to report on it. Until then, Manchester United fans will have to keep guessing.
**Erik ten Hag** has turned his attention to two of his former Manchester United stars as he prepares to oversee his first transfer window as Bayer Leverkusen manager. He wants to sign **Alejandro Garnacho and Antony**. (Source: Daily Mail Sport)
**Gulf News verdict:** The newly appointed Erik ten Hag even knew Antony during his Ajax days, as Antony played his best football under him. However, neither move is likely despite their history. Garnacho costs too much even with the possible arrival of Wirtz money at Leverkusen and he might prefer to stay in England, while Antony seems settled in Spain.
Let’s give a warm welcome to our new Head Coach, **Massimiliano Allegri!** (Source: **AC Milan** Official X handle)
**Gulf News verdict:** Milan sacked Portuguese manager Conceicao after just 5 months in charge as they had a medicore season. They have brought back Allegri. They might be thinking it as a safe approach but his time at Juventus wasn’t inspiring at all. Yes, Allegri has brought glory previously at this historc club. But can he do it again? We don’t think he is the same anymore.
