Indiana Pacers star **Pascal Siakam** got into it with a beat reporter Thursday when he took exception to the reporter’s line of questioning.
The interaction happened after the Pacers’ 111-94 loss to the New York Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. In the post-game press conference, Siakam said the lopsided loss was a result of the Knicks playing harder than the Pacers. _IndyStar_ reporter **Gregg Doyel** then asked him, “How is that possible?”
That began an awkward back-and-forth in which Siakam accused Doyel of trying to bait him into a specific response:
> SIAKAM: What do you mean?
>
> DOYEL: How is it possible to not fight hard enough in Game 5?
>
> SIAKAM: What are you talking about? They played harder than us. It’s OK. We played hard, but they played harder. Shat’s your point? I don’t get it.
>
> DOYEL: My point is you’re saying you guys got outfought —
>
> SIAKAM: That happens in the game, though. That’s basketball.
>
> DOYEL: In Game 5 of the NBA playoffs?
>
> SIAKAM: You’re good? You good, bro? You’re looking for something, I know, but damn. No, no, but I’m telling you though. I told you. What else do you want me to tell you?
>
> DOYEL: Well, I want you tell me how. That’s all I’m asking.
>
> SIAKAM: Well, what about you tell me? So go ahead. Who’s this guy? Who’s this guy? What’s your name, bro? Oh.
For basketball fans, Doyel’s name might be familiar. Last year, he was [suspended from covering Indiana Fever games](https://www.mediaite.com/media/sports/indianapolis-reporter-who-had-awkward-exchange-with-caitlin-clark-suspended-will-not-cover-fever-games-in-person/) in person following an uncomfortable interaction with star guard **Caitlin Clark**.
