Manchester United are keen on recruiting the services of Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Pervis Estupinan this summer and have made enquiries about signing him, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs.
The Red Devils want to bolster their options in the left wing-back role, and the 27-year-old Ecuadorian international has emerged as a prospective target.
Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has deployed Patrick Dorgu as his left wing-back since the Dane moved to the Old Trafford club in January, while Harry Amass has also featured there.
However, it appears the Portuguese wants an upgrade in the position, and they are monitoring Estupinan.
Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler claimed last August that the South American is ‘one of the best left backs in the Premier League’ when he is in his best shape, and he could be a perfect fit for Man United.
Wrote this about Estupinan in January. Fabian Hurzeler said today: "I think when he is in his best shape, he's one of the best left backs in the Premier League. He's full of energy. He's full of power." #BHAFC https://t.co/MiCBOXLDfN

The defender ended the season with just one goal and one assist in 36 appearances, but he scored thrice and assisted four times in 27 games in 2023-24 and was in fine form back in 2022-23, scoring once and assisting seven times in 35 Premier League games to announce himself to the English top-flight.
He is a threat when it comes to direct free-kicks, scoring one against Manchester City in February, and his passing and crossing abilities are also very excellent.
Estupinan is also solid defensively, boasting great aerial strengths as he stands at 5ft 9in, while he is also good in intercepting the ball.
While he is better used on the wings, the Brighton star will also provide cover on the left side of a three-man defence if need be, but whether he is open to moving to Man United remains to be seen even though his club missed out on Conference League qualification despite finishing eighth in the Premier League.
