Gustavo Hamer is a name that has appeared as a likely option for Everton this transfer window.
The Dutch midfielder is arguably the best player in the Championship, and after another stellar season with Sheffield United, it’s no surprise he’s in high demand.
David Moyes likes the Championship, and this seems like an avenue he will be exploring further down the window, along with Hamer.
The competition in the Toffees’ way though, is Leeds United, who also want Hamer, so Moyes will have to work his magic.
Well, the midfielder has now revealed his stance, and it’s one Everton fans will be intrigued by.

How Gustavo Hamer feels about moving to Everton in £20m deal
The 27-year-old playmaker has proven his worth in the top flight already, and Everton need these proven players.
Although he was relegated with Sheffield United, had they not had the midfielder, their season would have been a lot worse in the 2023/24 campaign.
The overall deal looks like a bargain with Hamer having a £20m asking price, which Moyes will happily oblige by.

It’s clear he’s good enough for the Premier League, but how does he truly feel about a move to Merseyside?
The Star revealed that Hamer is understood to be settled in Sheffield and in ‘no rush’, as things stand, to try and force an exit.
Although this seems like the Dutchman could be staying, the outlet then reveals that Hamer knows he is in his peak years, and with him turning 28 soon, he will be ‘keen’ to test himself at the highest level, like most players do.

What the Sheffield United manager said about Everton target Hamer’s future
With Sheffield United missing out on their chance of promotion to the top flight, this gives Everton even more chance of signing the midfielder.
He seems to be the gem in manager Chris Wilder’s side and would no doubt want to keep hold of him this summer.
With Hamer happy at the moment, this could suggest he stays, but the temptation of Premier League football might be too much.
With Everton keeping Harrison Armstrong, Hamer might have competition on his hands if the youngster excels, but going off the Dutchman’s season, he’ll be just fine.

As mentioned, Wilder will be wanting to keep him, and speaking to The Star, he made this very clear.
“As soon as we talk and we go ‘listen, we need to, from a club point of view, restore value to our big players’, and I think we’ve done that in terms of Anel, Vini, and most importantly, Gus, who was a big player, a big signing for us in the Premier League. But you’ve got to be all in,” Wilder said.
“There was obvious interest from clubs, a little bit of nonsense, noise and nonsense at times – but as soon as he was all in, and we talked about that, he’s given everything for me.”
With his mention of interest, Everton could’ve been a past club eyeing his signature, and they’ll be doing the same this summer.
