Amorim wants key Man United star to stay, tells Ineos to "find another way to make money"

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has poured cold water on rumours linking Bruno Fernandes with a blockbuster summer exit.

Saudi giants Al-Hilal have set their sights on the United captain, with reports suggesting they are preparing a whopping £100 million bid.

They are even willing to tempt Fernandes with a staggering £700,000-a-week salary.

Head coach Ruben Amorim was quizzed on the uncertainty surrounding the future of Fernandes.

He said (via ManUtd.com): “I don’t think so. I don’t know for sure. Nobody knows but I don’t think so. He’s seen us taking some actions to change all the things. I think that is all he asks.

“I think he wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things but he chose that he wants to win. I think he’s really good and he needs to be on the best league in the world.

“Yes, we can find another way to make money.”

Amorim has sent a clear message to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club hierarchy.

Fernandes has been the only shining star of this fractured United squad. Not only for the Red Devils, Fernandes is the Premier League’s most prolific goal-scoring chance-creator.

He racked up a phenomenal 19 goals and 20 assists in the 2024–25 season.

Selling your best player after the club’s worst season in modern history would be nothing short of self-sabotage.

Amorim has clearly told United executives to find another way to make money rather than selling Fernandes.

The Portuguese tactician has repeatedly affirmed that the 30-year-old playmaker is fully committed to staying at Old Trafford.

This is contrary to reports claiming Fernandes is seriously considering a move to Saudi Arabia.

With both the manager and captain united in purpose, INEOS must find alternative ways to generate revenue.
