Crystal Palace are interested in Atletico Madrid defender Reinildo, who will be available for free this summer, according to MundoDeportivo.
The 2024/25 season will be forever remembered by the Crystal Palace fanbase, who watched their club lift their first-ever major trophy when they beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final. In winning the trophy, Palace also qualified for the Europa League, another first for the South London side.
Palace have been a side reborn since they appointed Oliver Glasner to replace Roy Hodgson as their manager. The Austrian plays a high-intensity brand of football and is now preparing for a busy season, a season in which the Eagles will certainly need reinforcements. It would now appear that Palace have their focus on an experienced La Liga defender.
Palace Want Reinildo
Defender available for free
Reinildo
As per MundoDeportivo, Palace are keen on Reinildo. The defender has been with Atletico Madrid since joining them from Lille in 2022 and for the most part, has been a consistent member of Diego Simeone’s first team. In the latter stages of last season, however, Reinildo scarcely played for the club. This, combined with the Mozambique international being on an expiring contract, suggests that Reinildo will depart the Spanish capital this summer.

Palace want depth for their left wing-back position, regardless of whether Tyrick Mitchell remains at Palace or departs the club this summer. In Reinildo, Palace would be signing an experienced defender, somebody who has played in European competitions before, which will prove crucial for Palace in the coming campaign.
If the Eagles are able to sign Reinildo, who has been called "one of Europe's best left-backs," on a free transfer, then it would be a sensible way for them to open proceedings in an incredibly important summer window.
