Billionaire American investors | West Ham source reveals the reality

Stories of an imminent American takeover or large investment in [West Ham](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-linked-us-billionaire-new-investor-name-emerges/) have been denied this morning by a senior club source.

The club are not in discussions with any American investors at present, and there have been no serious approaches so far to indicate one is coming any time soon.

Recent stories have linked former Activision CEO and US billionaire Bobby Kotick, Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Water, as well as New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, heir to the Johnson and Johnson fortune, with investment in West Ham.

The club source claims talk is cheap, but there have been no recent approaches to invest in West Ham from American investors.

There remains a possibility that American investors have yet to make a formal approach to West Ham, so the club might not be aware of any investors this stage, but you would imagine lawyers or intermediates would have at least sounded the shareholders and directors out informally by now to gauge their willingness to sell and a rough valuation of the club.
