Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko has been told by RB Leipzig that he can leave the club as soon as possible, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta‘s side had considered a move for Sesko last year and have retained their interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sesko has ended the campaign with 21 goals in 45 games for RB Leipzig but the club are set to take a huge financial hit after finishing seventh in the Bundesliga and missing out on European football for next season.

According to The Sun, RB Leipzig have informed Sesko that they want a quick sale and that the striker can even be sold to Arsenal next week if a deal is quickly agreed.

The report adds that RB Leipzig are holding out for a £85 million fee for the 21-year-old but a deal closer to £60m is more likely.

The Slovenia international joined RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg for €24m (£20.6m) in 2023 and signed a five-year contract which included a £55m release clause which has since increased to over £66m (€80m).

When asked about his future earlier this month, Sesko said: ‘We’ll see what happens. It’s open, anything can happen.’

RB Leipzig are currently in Brazil where they ran out 3-1 winners but Sesko did not make an appearance due to a knee injury.

Arsenal have also held talks with Sporting CP over a deal for their striker Viktor Gyokeres, who finished the season with 54 goals in 52 matches and helped the Portuguese club win the domestic league and cup double.

Reports in Portugal this week have claimed that Arsenal have put forward a proposal worth €70m (£58.7m) and are ready to offer the 26-year-old a five-year deal worth £110,000 per week before bonuses.

Arsenal are also closing in on a £51m deal to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. The 26-year-old is now due to undergo a medical with Arteta’s side.
