Arsenal fans have been reacting to the news that the club are in advanced talks with defender Gabriel over a new contract.
The Brazilian has been a key part of Mikel Arteta‘s side this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions with five goals and three assists.

His current contract is due to expire in June 2027, but according to BBC Sport, negotiations over a new contract are in advanced stages and an agreement is now close to confirmation.
It is understood that a new deal for the defender will run until June 2030, handing him a three-year contract extension. He is estimated to be worth £63 million as things stand.

Fellow Arsenal star also in contract talks
Gabriel isn’t the only Gunner who is currently undergoing talks of a contract extension with the club, as midfielder Thomas Partey is also speaking with the club.
Partey’s contract is due to expire next month, and reports have said recently that Arsenal are trying to land him on a short-term contract extension to avoid the Ghana international leaving as a free agent.
The 31-year-old has made 35 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists for Arteta’s side.
