Tottenham Hotspur keen to sign Chelsea flop this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Chelsea star ahead of summer window. The player has flopped in his time at Stamford Bridge. He is keen to depart due to lack of game time.

The star in question here is Christopher Nkunku. He joined the Blues in 2023 for £52 million. But, the deal has not worked out for any of the parties. Nkunku was injured in his first season due to which he played very less. This season, he was fully fit but was still unable to play regularly.

Enzo Maresca has preferred other players over Nkunku. As a result, the 27 year old was keen to leave in January window. The Blues were demanding around £60 million due to which no deal was able to move ahead. Nkunku had to stay at Chelsea who are now ready to let him leave.

Tottenham Hotspur join the race for Nkunku

According to talkSPORT, Spurs have made an enquiry to sign Nkunku this summer. The 27 year old is open to joining Chelsea’s rivals. The North London side are back in the UCL and hence joining them will be tempting for Nkunku.

The report also adds that Nkunku is open to joining Bayern Munich. The German champions were keen to sign him in January itself. But, the move was unable to move ahead due to Chelsea’s transfer fee demands. They can now retry in the summer window and try to sign him on lower fee.

Bayern Munich are set to part ways with Leroy Sane. In addition, they are likely to miss out on signing Florian Wirtz. This will force them to focus on Nkunku. The Frenchman had a very good time in Bundesliga before joining Chelsea. Hence, he will be tempted to move there in order to get his career back on track.
