Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Reveals Huge Rashee Rice Injury Update

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have felt the sting of losing in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles all offseason long. There is only one thing that they're focused on heading into the 2025 season.

Obviously, the lone goal for the Chiefs is to not just get back to the big game, but to win it again. After two straight wins, being denied a three-peat has lit a fire under the team.

While there are a lot of good teams ready to compete for this year's Super Bowl, Kansas City will continue being viewed as a favorite as long as Mahomes is in town. On the outside looking in, the Chiefs still look like one of the best teams in the NFL, especially with their championship experience.

One major key during the 2025 campaign will be health. Kansas City suffered a major injury last year when wide receiver Rashee Rice went down with LCL and PLC injuries following a collision with Mahomes.

Fans have now received a major update on Rice's condition. Mahomes spoke out about his talented young wideout and revealed how he's doing.

"He looks like Rashee," Mahomes said. "Obviously, having the injury sucked. But it happening so early in the season, he was back around when the offseason started. ... There's no limitations. He's out there playing."

That is great news for the Chiefs. Rice had started showing the potential of being a potential No. 1 wide receiver for Mahomes.

In the four games he played before the injury last season, Rice caught 24 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns. As a rookie in 2023, he totaled 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven scores.

Getting the 25-year-old wide receiver back to full health will be a big part of Kansas City's hopes in 2025. It sounds like he's already back at 100 percent and ready to get back on the field.

Outside of Rice, the Chiefs have a solid group of targets for Mahomes to work with. They have Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Jalen Royals at wide receiver, while also having Travis Kelce back for another year and Noah Gray at tight end.

Mahomes has to love where things stand for the offense. Rice being back will give him one of his favorite targets and should result in another big season for the superstar quarterback.
