Minnesota struggled to generate consistent offense against a stifling Thunder defense. Star players Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle had multiple off nights, which ultimately proved costly in the series.
According to NBA writer Sam Amico, the Timberwolves are now looking to make a major move in the offseason. He reports that Minnesota is expected to once again pursue a trade for Phoenix Suns superstar forward Kevin Durant.
"The Timberwolves need another 'alpha' next to Edwards to win it all, which is why sources told Hoops Wire that Minnesota is expected to pursue a Durant trade again this offseason," Amico said.
Durant, entering his 18th NBA season, remains one of the league’s elite scorers. Last season with the Phoenix Suns, he averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
